Saint Anne, of David’s house and line, was the mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus according to apocryphal Christian and Islamic tradition. Mary’s mother is not named in the canonical gospels, but is mentioned as the daughter of Faqud in Quran. In writing, Anne’s name and that of her husband Joachim come only from New Testament apocrypha, of which the Gospel of James  seems to be the earliest that mentions them.

 Marchioness Giulia and Marquis Carlo Tancredi 

    Marquis Carlo Tancredi and Marchioness Giulia Di Barolo Founded the Congregation of Sister of St. Ann of providence on the 10th December 1834 in Italy.Though of noble origin Carlo Tancredi and Giulia Di Barolo stooped down with humility and love to raise up the afflicted, the ignorant, the poor, the abandoned and marginalized persons of the society. They utilized their wealth, energy and time for the education of children and youth in addition to other services rendered to humanity.

• PROSPECTUS

   St. Ann's High School was Founded in 1876 by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Ann. It is a Catholic Minority Institution, but it is open to students belonging to other denominations as well. In carrying out its Aims and Objectives the School as a Minority Institution reserves for itself it's inherent and Constitutionally Recognized Rights of Management and Administration.

   AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  The Aim of St. Ann's school is to impart a balanced and all round Education to promote the integral development of the personality of each student. This school cherishes the value of the dignity of each student as Child of God. It seeks to foster in the students a love and trust for God the Good Father. It strives to offer the students an education based on the Gospel values and the values of our Indian culture.

  So it shapes the Curriculum to inculcate in the students values such as Love, Brotherhood, Justice, Truth, Honesty,  Simplicity, Tolerance and Compassion. It is keen to develop in them a sense of Responsibility,  Sensitivity to the needs of others, attitude to face difficulties and the future with courage and optimism.

  St. Ann's High School is a Permanently Recognized Minority Institution as per A.P rules D. S.P' Procs L.Dist 5956/D2/76 dated 7-2-78. 

  The students are prepared for S.S.C Board Examination. The medium of instruction is English, Hindi or Telugu is  the first language.

  Telugu is the second language for those who opt for Hindi as the first language and vice versa. 

  The first language is started in U.K.G. and the second language in Class I

  Value Education is imparted to all students. Religious instruction is given to the Catholic children.

   

   

  GENERAL RULES

   1.         PUNCTUALITY / ASSEMBLY :

            Each day starts with the Assembly Prayer. Every student is expected to be in school 5 minutes before the Assembly Bell at 8.55 a.m. if students are late for the assembly they will receive 5 warning notices, after which they are liable to be sent home at the parents risk.

  
  SCHOOL UNIFORM

  Students must come to school in full school uniform which is as follows.

   

  < >Hair should be neatly cross - plaited and tied with black ribbons (one meter  length each)If hair is shoulder length, two pony tails should be tied.No fringe is permitted, no fancy rubber bands or clips, if hair is short use  narrow black hair band.The length of the uniform should be an inch below  the knee.Students must wear bloomers over their underwear. With the games uniform a petticoat must  be worn.]Plain White socks with no ribbing, black shoes with straps.Navy blue sweaters can be worn to school.Nails should be clean and trim.Jewellery of any kind should not be worn to school. Only a small pair of earrings is permitted, no fancy watches. The school is not responsible for the loss of jewellery.CCE and Examination Reform
• Following are the reforms made as a part of implementation of CCE.
• Making examinations more flexible an integrated into classroom teaching through Formative Assessment.
• Ensuring that learning is shifted away from rote methods and memory oriented and  focus on self expression.
• Grading in place of marks (Marks based grading system). Assessment of subject specific academic standards/ competencies rather than information.
• Questions which are analytical and open ended which discriminate children of various abilities.
• Teacher maintaining child wise, subject wise performance register.The assessment tools  are not only pen paper but also oral, projects, observations, portfolios, class work, activity reports etc ..
• Evaluation is made comprehensive, including co-curricular areas such as Art and Cultural Education, Health and Physical Education, work and Computer Education , Value Education and Life Skills.
• Evaluation is made continuous and now become part of teaching through Formative Assessment.
• Progress Report compresses with descriptive statement on children's performance covering all curricular areas.

    Continuous Assessment - is regular and periodical. Evaluation of student's growth and     development is  continuous process rather than an event, built into the total teaching learning process and spread over the entire span of academic session.

  Comprehensive - is a holistic approach, covers both scholastic and co-scholastic areas. It provides ample opportunity for the child to grow in all areas.

 Evaluation - is assessment of child in all aspects. The  emphasis shifted to testing of  holistic learning.

a)   Formative Assessment

            It is a assessment conducted during the process of teaching. It is through observation of student's responses, engagement, notebook, assignments and other written works. Formative Assessment will be conducted by the teacher during instructions. The teacher observes and records the child’s progress and as well as learning gaps.

             The teacher has to observe the child’s progress through classroom observations, notebooks, projects, slip tests and record four times during a year.

b)        Summative Assessment:

Summative Evaluation should be based on the written and oral tests. The questions must be qualitative i.e., open  ended, ended analytical in nature, drawing conclusions, giving reasons, evaluating and interpreting in nature. They must discriminate the children based on their intelligence and creativity. Summative Assessment is a terminal test in nature and shall be conducted twice in a year.
